The result is higher yields, lower material consumption, cycle time optimization, better flow control, and no surface flaws, thus reducing overall costs. Astronics plastic injection molding products come in a wide range of highly engineered materials, including high-glass and carbon-filled content, and additives for lubrication such as PTFE or MOS2. All are commonly available in flame-retardant grades. Additional modifiers include colorants/dyes, talc, and RF shielding additives. Astronics can produce parts for plastic injection molding ranging in size from a couple ounces to almost four pounds. Whether your needs are highly-engineered aerospace products or complex part geometry including secondary assembly, Astronics will guide you through the entire process, from tooling to part fabrication.
